My love for motorcycles started, at least when I was 8 years old, when I used to ride with my father on a Suzuki 250cc.
It was also with him that I first experienced the rough feel of tar.
At 14, I got my first motorcycle, a Peugeot Country with a kick starter.
After an iconic white and red Yamaha DT 50 LC,
A bestseller since the 80s.
With the DT I had my first adventures; for a 50cc, the trip between Lisbon and VR de Santo António was quite an adventure.
When I got my driver's license, I had a Virago 250cc for a short period of time, then I traded it for an XTZ 660 Ténéré, my first motorcycle.
And that was the end of the motorcycle era for 10 long years.
So for my 30th birthday, I gave myself an old, worn-out Yamaha XTZ 750 Super Ténéré.
It was a hell of a machine, it ran well and drank even better. But its state of deterioration was advanced and I had to retire it prematurely. That's when I bought an early Suzuki DL650 V-Strom, which stayed by my side for 12 years and over 100,000 km. A beautiful motorcycle.
During the V-Strom's "reign," I also had a DT 125 YPVS and a DR 350 for some rides, but it was a short-lived period.
In 2021 I bought a dream... T700.
As far as motorcycles are concerned, this was one of the happiest days of my life, especially since I waited almost 5 long months for it.
